This '71 Challenger comes to life under the direction of Hot Rod and Super Car designer/builder Chip Foose. The custom Sassy Grass Green paint, the leather interior, the super-tuned suspension sitting on Chips new generation MoPar rallye rims in 20" billett alluminum really set this car off.
This '71 Challenger comes to life under the direction of Hot Rod and Super Car designer/builder Chip Foose. The custom Lime Green paint, the leather interior, the super-tuned suspension sitting on Chips new generation MoPar rallye rims in 20" billett alluminum really set this car off. John Hopper took care of the engine and associated components on the Challenger. For more info on the engine visit John's site at http://www.mopar5150.com/ also see John's blown '55 pickup....it's a street rod alright. Phil Wilson took care of the tranny, the 8 3/4 rear end, and the suspension among other things. Phil grew up Drag Racing with his dad who ran a factory '65 A 990 Light Weight Plymouth Hemi back in the mid west. When Phil was of legal age to drive he started building his own MoPars to drag race. Then after wearing out alot of lawn chairs Drag Racing he decided to get into Road Racing. His MoPar of choice for the tracks out here in So-Cal is his '97 Viper GTS. Phil also crews on my '70 Plymouth 'Cuda every fall at SCCA's Fall Vintage Classic at Laguna Seca. It's nice to have a rocket scientist in the pits to do failure analysis, his day job is with NASA's JPL. Aaron McDonald this multitalented cat was involved in just about everything from the suspension, to the electrical, interior, even doing the engine bay prep work and welding before paint. Aaron has several MoPar including a '66 Dodge pickup with a 440, a '69 Barracuda 340, and a '64 Road Race Dart that he terrorizes the competition with when he's not managing the sales and service dept. for LA and Orange co. Vespa dealerships. Now that's a rear end!!!!.....Courtney was totally cool. She wasn't afraid to break a nail at all, she got down and dirty every day. - Torsion Bars= 1"- Leaf Springs= 155# / "- Front Sway Bar= 1 1/8"- 4" ground clearance to frame rails- Full suspension travel - Koni Classic Reds- 3.55 sure grip, clutch style- Alluminum radiator, electric fan -- Torsion Bars= 1"- Leaf Springs= 155# / "- Front Sway Bar= 1 1/8"- 4" ground clearance to frame rails- Full suspension travel - Koni Classic Reds- 3.55 sure grip, clutch style- Alluminum radiator, electric fan- 13" Front floater disc brakes, 12" Rears- '73 spindles with alluminum hubs- Power Steering and Power Brakes- urythane lower control arm bushings- Moog offset A-arm bushings - Neg camber and Pos caster, Just - the right amount prescribed |
